CONDADO. This spot is popular with a mostly gay crowd who stays in the hotel and comes down in the evenings for happy hour specials and to dance the night away. An indoor/outdoor bar has a covered deck with a beautiful view of the ocean and Condado Beach. Sunday afternoon drag shows are legendary throughout the city.

ISLA VERDE. Brava enjoys its dual persona as both club and lounge. The central dance floor is packed with posh patrons dancing to house and Latin music. A wraparound balcony means that non-dancers and those needing a rest don't miss any of the action. There is a cover charge to enter but hotel guests are admitted for free.

OLD SAN JUAN. This joint is jumpin' when the cruise ships pull into port. The club offers three choices for entertainment. Start with a drink in the ground floor pub, then move to the second floor for dancing to Latin rock, salsa or house music. When you need a rest, visit the rooftop terrace with a gorgeous view of the bay and the lights of San Juan. If the view is not enough, feast your eyes on their state-of-the-art light show.

SANTURCE. Krash is another of San Juan's clubs that is a particular favorite of the city's gay population. Nights have a designated theme, but expect the hippest dance tunes you would hear playing in New York or Los Angeles.
